T1 Table Lamp Our T1 Table Lamp is a DC power-based table lamp designed with these features: - It is a hybrid lamp. It has two bulbs. One bulb operates on DC power (designated Lamp-DC), the other bulb operates on AC power (designated Lamp-AC). You can select which type of power to use. There is a switch for each on the front of the lamp. When you turn on the Lamp-DC switch, the lamp is operating from the DC power base and the Lamp-DC bulb turns on. When you turn off the Lamp-DC switch, the Lamp-DC bulb goes out and the DC power base recharges from your home or business electricity. When you turn on the Lamp-AC switch, the lamp operates from your home or business electricity and the Lamp-AC bulb turns on. You could, if you wanted, install a higher wattage light bulb on the Lamp-AC side if you desire to have brighter lighting. Please remember to have all switches turned off whenever you replace a light bulb. The Lamp-AC function overrides the Lamp-DC function such that whenever the Lamp-AC switch is turned on, the Lamp-DC function will turn off. When the Lamp-AC switch is off, the Lamp-DC function operates as designed.
- The lamp can be set to automatically turn on between 5pm-6pm and turn off between 11pm-midnight. When the lamp automatically turns on, the Lamp-DC bulb lights. When the lamp automatically turns off, the Lamp-DC bulb goes out and the DC power base recharges from your home or business electricity. The lamp repeats this on/off cycle the following night and continues this process unless (or until) you turn this feature off. You can turn this feature on or off through the timer on/off switch on the front of the lamp.
- High reliability. When you lose your electricity, the Lamp-DC side will continue to operate as long as you have an adequate DC power charge level. You can check the charge level via the DC power monitor. In our validation testing, the Lamp-DC side has operated for over 24 continuous hours (without requiring recharge) using a 20-watt CFL natural light bulb. (The 20-watt bulb has a comparable brightness output as a 75-watt incandescent bulb).
- DC Power Monitoring. There is a bar graph display which indicates the level of DC Power stored in your lamp. You simply press a button next to this display to see the level of DC power stored in your lamp. When there is maximum power stored, the bar display will light to a green peak. When there is medium or adequate power stored, the bar display will light to a yellow peak. When there is low DC power available, the bar display will light to a red peak. You should try to keep the lamp DC power base at maximum level when the lamp is not in use.
- Energy Savings. The lamp can help you to save energy. In fact, it can help you achieve significant energy savings when the lamp is connected with our (soon to be offered) solar modules. But remember, energy savings primarily depends on how you use and operate your lighting and all other energy-dependent devices in your home or business. We won't list all the possible energy saving iterations on this page, however, we will show various energy savings scenarios (as we test) in our future Performance Reports. So stay tuned for these regular updates. Our lamps are shipped with two 20-watt energy saving (natural) light bulbs as a start in that direction.
- Uses rechargeable NIMH batteries. The NIMH batteries are safe, durable, will last many years and are easy to replace. When you plug the lamp into your home or business receptacle, your AC electricity is being used to recharge these batteries. It takes a maximum of eight hours to recharge the NIMH batteries to full power. Even though we consider this good performance, we're anticipating improved power capacity and recharge performance in the next generation of NIMH batteries. So stay tuned for that. Also, you will be able to plug the lamp directly into our solar recharging modules to be offered later this year.
- You can custom design your lamp by choosing the lamp body color to match your interior design. You can choose from high gloss custom wood, high gloss polyurethane or high gloss metallic finishes. You can choose your finish from the selections on our Showroom page.
- A one year warranty. And we offer our Global Maintenance Plan for ongoing and emergency service and upgrade.
